Wednesday Winners

This week's Wednesday Winners nearly didn't turn up! Busy schedules and blogging technical difficulties stood in a our way but we persevered as we would never let you down!

Naomi's picks:

Topshop Aztec Padded Gilet £55
I saw this in Topshop on Saturday and it reminded me of Christmas and Alaska. I've never been to Alaska but I'm sure this would be a well needed wardrobe item.

Ted Baker Tingey Oversized Floral Printed Top £69
I  love this top. It has cute features including the floral lined neck and sleeves, a floral back and the tiny intricate petals on the shoulder. The petals remind me of Chelsea's amazing wedding dress - see the "About Us" section for a picture!

Lace Collared Playsuit £48
Lace - check, collar - check. I'm turning into Chelsea. The back impresses me the most - it reminds me of another friend's wedding dress!

H&M Jacket £34.99
I love sparkle and so this jacket obviously stood out to me. I will have to go to H&M to see this in real life to make sure it is not tack central! This is totally a Christmas dinner jacket. This is the second time I've mentioned Christmas. Crikes.

Topshop Embellished Cage Vest £36
I think this top calls for a tan! I like the 'cage' design and the smudged pattern.  It looks floaty - good for those dinner and drinks evenings!

Chelsea's Picks:

This week I've gone for a pretty ecclectic mix of items - hope you like!

1. Next Berry V Cut Peep Toe Shoe Boots (£35)

I have been on a quest to find a pair of black high heeled shoe boots to replace my beloved ASOS Tweedy ones that I wore into the ground before they were discontinued. Whilst browsing I came across these fro Next. I will continue the search for the perfect black shoe boot but in the meantime these ones, in the colour of the season, will keep me going. I love the deep V at the front and the peep-toe adds a bit of a dressy touch.

2. Ted Baker Paage Tapestry Print Short (£89)

I really love the print on these shorts. If you go to the website and zoom in you will see that the print is almost pixelated, a sort of cross-stitch effect (probably why they are called tapestry). Wear with black opaque tights to carry you through winter!

3. Mango Printed Photo T-Shirt (£14.99)

I really like the design on this t-shirt and can well imagine, as I have said, wearing it with some indigo skinny jeans and the Next shoe boots for a rock chick look. I like that it is sleeveless and for £14.99 it's a bargain too!

4. Monsoon Fusion Jaguar Animal Print Coat (£85)

There is ever such a feint tint of berry to this leopard, sorry, jaguar print coat. I think the darker print stops it looking tacky (always a danger with leopard print) and I love that it's double breasted - it makes it seem better quality somehow! I can imagine myself all cosied up in it, hands in pockets this winter.

5. Forever 21 Metallic Dots Swing Dress (£19.75)

This is a bit of a random edition to what has been a very Autumnul looking selection of picks. It's pastel, it's summery and has a shimmer effect thanks to the metallic dots. OK, so I probably wouldn't be able to wear it until next Summer but I may just decide to throw over H&M jacket from Naomi's picks and brace my legs for the cold as I head to a Christmas party!

So, we got there in the end! What are your Autumn/Winter/late Summer picks??

Love Naomi and Chelsea xx

Sunday Save: A fairy tale ending

Hey guys

It is no surprise that Who's that girl? has nominated the unemployed student to do the first Sunday Save, but what a privilege it is to share with you this sweet fairy tale!

Let me set the scene... it was NYE dress shopping time and I came across and fell in love with one of the most beautiful dresses I have ever seen: Monsoon's Etienne dress. Unfortunately with a £150 price-tag I had to put it to the back of my mind (with absolute force and determination) and recycle an existing outfit for NYE (the story of my life).

Over the following months the Etienne has popped up in my dress searches and I have lusted (even tried on one occasion) and walked away from its gorgeous nude/pink colour, intricate silver embroidered lace design and dropwaist... probs bad for a dress to experience so much rejection.

Anyway it's time to speed up this fairy tale... fast forward a couple of months to August and I've got that nagging feeling that I need to find a dress for an upcoming wedding but it had not come to the point where I had began searching yet - so you won't believe what I'm about to tell you*: I just so happened to pop into Monsoon and what do I see? The Etienne dress in the sale rail at a bargain price of £49 - what a reduction! I immediately grab it to confirm my belief that it will be a size 16 (with an ounce of hope that it won't be!). In this moment, I am overcome by a rush of excitement, delight and happiness  as I read "size 10".   I head straight to the fitting room.  You may be wondering why I needed to retry the dress, well my weight fluctuates like a yoyo so I had to confirm size 10 was still suitable (to be honest I probs would have bought it anyway and made it suitable!).  It is with sheer joy that I can confirm that it fitted like it was meant to be :)

But wait, the fairy tale gets even sweeter: with hindsight I can see that Etienne was saving herself for a beautiful wedding rather than a messy NYE, where in fact I spilt a whole glass of red wine down my white top and the Etienne would have been massacred.  It totes deserves more than that!

*this story has been totally predictable from the start

Here she is:

I know you might be thinking that the dress is totes last season's stock, but this has a timeless vintagey feel to it, don't you agree?

I intend to wear the dress with nude Ted Baker heels and a nude Aftershock clutch (courtesy of my mom).

I hope that I have instilled some belief in you that fairy tale endings aren't only made for the movies. Believe for your fairy tale ending today :)

Lots of love,
Naomi
